Start with a complete image file
Open HEIC to JPG and select the original photo. If it lives in cloud storage, let the original download first. The selected file is read by this page for local processing. The HEIC decoder itself may need an initial network download; this is different from sending your photo to a conversion server.
Set the cap before encoding
Choose JPG output and your actual target. For a 100,000-byte ceiling, turn off binary units. With binary units enabled, the 100 target permits 102,400 bytes instead. Once compression finishes, inspect exact bytes and dimensions and download the result. Do not assume a conversion automatically preserves all original pixels: the tool can resize to meet its processing and target-size limits.
If the decoder cannot read your HEIC
HEIC files can contain variations the bundled browser decoder does not handle. An error does not establish that the original is corrupt. Keep it, then use a compatible image application to export a JPEG and compress that export. Apple documents converting HEIF images to JPEG or PNG using Preview on a Mac. Its HEIF/HEVC support guide also explains capture and sharing compatibility. The fallback described here is based on that documentation; it is not a promise that every HEIC will decode in this tool.
What conversion does not preserve
The browser redraws a still image and creates a new file. Do not expect a Live Photo’s motion, depth data or original metadata to survive. Confirm the output’s orientation and appearance. Converting an image is not the same as making a valid passport or exam photograph.

Can I use this offline?
Already loaded image-processing code can work without uploading the selected file. A first use of HEIC conversion or ZIP may still need additional software files from this site. Do not rely on offline availability until the needed feature has loaded in your session.
Why did my JPEG get much smaller dimensions?
A small byte budget can require resizing, and an extra dimension cap may be selected. Read the result card and use a larger permitted target if the image is too small.
