Larger photos and attachments

A 500 KB ceiling gives the encoder more room. Large photographs may still be resized for processing. If exact original dimensions matter, compare the result card with your original before using it.

Set the exact byte ceiling

500 decimal KB means 500,000 bytes. With the binary option checked, the same target permits 512,000 bytes. The compressor displays the active limit and output bytes; use the convention your destination specifies.

Compress and check

Select your original JPG, PNG, WebP or supported HEIC image.
Choose the accepted output format and confirm the 500 KB target.
Press Compress. Only a successful result marked at or under the target fits the byte ceiling.
Download, reopen and inspect the file. Confirm dimensions, format and visual detail as well as bytes.

When fitting the size is not enough

The encoder may reduce dimensions. PNG and WebP can preserve transparency; JPG uses a white background. This tool does not crop faces, validate application rules, recover blurred detail or pad files to a minimum size. A failed attempt can leave an above-limit best effort; check the result badge before using it.
