More room for visual detail
A 200 KB ceiling can preserve more detail than a smaller cap, but the result depends on texture, dimensions and format. Do not lower it further unless your destination requires that.
Set the exact byte ceiling
200 decimal KB means 200,000 bytes. With the binary option checked, the same target permits 204,800 bytes. The compressor displays the active limit and output bytes; use the convention your destination specifies.
Compress and check
- Select your original JPG, PNG, WebP or supported HEIC image.
- Choose the accepted output format and confirm the 200 KB target.
- Press Compress. Only a successful result marked at or under the target fits the byte ceiling.
- Download, reopen and inspect the file. Confirm dimensions, format and visual detail as well as bytes.
When fitting the size is not enough
The encoder may reduce dimensions. PNG and WebP can preserve transparency; JPG uses a white background. This tool does not crop faces, validate application rules, recover blurred detail or pad files to a minimum size. A failed attempt can leave an above-limit best effort; check the result badge before using it.
